Spencer Hyde's first official run in Top Fuel at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals didn't go according to plan as his Elite Performance entry exploded the engine at 800 feet into the run. Hyde got the car stopped safely after a 3.92 pass.
"It felt like it was on a decent run and then right before the finish line it's the biggest bang I've ever felt, but I'm fine," said Hyde. "It felt pretty good, then at 800 feet it just banged it good. We'll get it fixed and come back."
